Examples of Documentary Work

Interviewing Lay People
IRMI, Construction Risk Conference
The International Risk Management Institute (IRMI) enlisted Hotbed to create a documentary about their Construction Risk Conference. The project required Hotbed to to travel to Dallas and Orlando to interview approximately 30 insurance agents, brokers and construction contractors, many of whom had never been in front of a camera. Hotbed worked with IRMI to develop the story and interview questions. After capturing the interviews, Hotbed worked to cull the footage down to the two minutes that best delivered IRMI’s intended message. Hotbed also captured construction footage to accompany the documentary. We sought to com-bine our interview skills with our keen sense of photography to create an engaging experience for IRMI’s audience. This video has an educational component. One of IRMI’s tenets for the video was to educate conference attendees about how to take advantage of the conference and be open minded about learning new things and meeting new people. Education
Amgen, Epogen
Eveo, Amgen’s interactive agency, approached Hotbed to produce a 30 minute education piece for dialysis patients about anemia and the process and implication of receiving Amgen’s anemia treatment, Epogen. Hotbed worked with Eveo to develop a story that conveyed educational content. Video productions pertaining to disease-state subject matter are under tremendous scrutiny by Amgen’s internal review board as well as the FDA. Hotbed gained tremendous experience working with educational material under strict, federally regulated guidelines.
