PTSD Video Production Process

  • Research and speak with National Center of PTSD to gain an in-depth knowledge of the topic.
  • Work with VA Education Specialist to develop list of potential interview candidates. We will seek to hire subjects that live within 100 miles of White River Junction. If possible, we would like to extend the range to include Boston.
  • Conduct phone interviews with potential candidates.
  • Create Candidate shortlist.
  • Conduct pre-interview with candidates.
  • Select interview subjects.
  • Producer develops production schedule and hires crew. Crew will fly from San Francisco except production assistant which will be hired locally in Vermont.
  • Director, Producer and DP will travel to White River Junction four days in advance to scout locations.
  • Director develops shot list.
  • Production team goes into field and captures interviews and B-roll. One Veteran per day.
  • Post - Production team logs and organizes footage.
  • Director works with editors to edit 10 videos. Four edit days per video. Two editors will work simultaneously.
  • Graphics are designed, rendered and placed.
  • Once edits finalized, videos are color corrected and sound mixed.
  • Videos are compressed to VA’s specifications. Hotbed recommends Flash, Windows Media or Quicktime.
  • Videos are made 508 Compliant.
